Business Licenses

Each business license has its own requirements and regulations for Ajman Business Setup. Here are the types of licenses available.

1. National Industrial License
With a National Industrial License, you are exempt from customs duty. There are a couple of requirements to get this license. A business must be registered with the Gulf of Cooperation Council, and it must own at least 51% of the shares. At least 40% of manufacturing processes need to be done in the Free Zone.

 

2. Trading License
If you plan to use your company to trade in Ajman, then you will need this license. This includes the import, export, and re-export of goods and services in the United Arab Emirates.

 

3. Industrial License
If you have an Industrial License in Ajman, you’ll be able to import raw materials for manufacturing, processing, or assembling specified products. The finished products can then be exported outside the UAE. If you plan on selling the products in the UAE, then you’ll have to go through a local distributor or local agent.

 

4. Professional/Service License
This type of business license is granted to any UAE, foreign, or Free Zone entity that provides professional or service activities.

 

5. E-Commerce License
This is for companies that want to tap into the growing e-commerce segment of the GCC and the region.

 

6. General Maintenance License
In order to have a maintenance business in Ajman, you’ll need a Maintenance license. This license will give individuals the authority to make repairs and perform regular maintenance on buildings to keep them in good shape.

Steps you need to follow while setting up an Ajman Mainland company

Step 1- Submit Company Application
The first step to take for forming your company is to submit the company application. This will need to be done through the customer service center in the municipality.

Step 2- Get approval from specialized departments
Next, you will have to follow up with the Inspection Unit of the municipality of Ajman to verify the business location. Depending on your business activity, you may also have to get approval from other departments if it’s required.

Step 3- Get trade name approved
You will have to obtain approval for the trade name. After you get approved, then you’ll have to get the business register and membership certificate issued.

Step 4- Submit the necessary approvals
After you get everything approved, then you’ll have to submit the information and receipts from the Ministry of Trade to get accepted into the Register of Companies.

Step 5- Obtain your business license
You’ll have to pay all the required fees and submit the application to the Customer Services Center. After that, you’ll get your business license the next day.
